Britney Dawn Do is the 2022 Teen Composer Award winner!

We are absolutely delighted to announce this year’s recipient, Britney Dawn Do, based in Vancouver! She will write a piece for the Continuum ensemble to be premiered in the 21/22 Season.

Britney begins her private lessons with composer Lieke van der Voort in 2022.

Britney Dawn Do (she/her) currently resides in the unceded and traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples – sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations – otherwise known as Vancouver, Canada. She has had her works performed by Peridot Duo, Trio Pyörä, and the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra. She is currently studying music composition with Rodney Sharman, violin with Yuri Zaidenberg and piano with Keiko Alexander. Britney is the assistant concertmaster of the VSO School of Music’s “Sinfonietta” string ensemble.
